Lily Luna Potter was named in honor of her late paternal grandmother Lily Potter. Her middle name was in honor of Luna Lovegood, since she was Ginny’s friend but also in honor of RemusLupin because ‘Luna’ means ‘The moon’ in Latin taking into light the fact that Lupin was a werewolf.
